Drawing Like a Kid / 2017-2020
Drawing Like a Kid is a compilation of digital hand-lettering and crayon style drawings. Some of the digital letterings are for the exhibition that I submitted and others for fun. I joined Calligraphy and Handlettering Community in Surakarta, named Surakarya in 2015, and I join the Calligraphy & Handlettering Exhibitions. It kind of fun, have new friends, and get more learn about Handlettering. I was interested in typeface and font since I was learned about design. So, I glad I can join that community and learn more about the typeface. Some kind of hand lettering process I post on my Instagram. "Merdeka Gak Cuma pas Bulan Agustus" is my favorite hand lettering. That artwork also entire as selected artwork for Postcard Exhibitions by Siasat Partikelir X Farid Stevy in Yogyakarta in 2017. Some kind of my artworks also published in the poetry book "Baju Baru Untuk Puisi dan Hal Hal yang Belum Kita Mengerti" by Bebuku Publisher. I've been chosen as an illustrator for the typography poetry books project in 2017. I've made 15 poetry typography for that project.
Crayon style drawings are my experience to draw a character for my next project, Children Short Story. Drawing is not my passion, but I tried because I was really interested in comics, children's character, and animation. I usually post it on the Grafolio website, with "Eunsung" is my pen name. I inspired of Manhwa comic that I read when I was in High School. The characters look scary, but he is a gentleman. I used the Wacom pen tablet to draw, and I tried to find my character. My first semester of Design School is Manual Drawing. That really difficult for me. Drawing every day, and make revision because I not good enough of drawing. Some of my friends help me a lot. And finally, in the first semester, I can pass the exam, with the one of my artwork is collected in my campus. I was really happy. Because the first semester is really though to me. I make more revision of drawing than my other classmates. My lecture knows about my drawing progress, so he keeps my artwork for campus. That artwork is Nirmana 3D with hard paper for the material.
